Decolonial Supervision (Licensure)

  • Diana is an exceptional clinical supervisor whose dedication to mental health care is both inspiring and transformative. With a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to fostering growth, Diana provided me with unparalleled guidance, blending clinical expertise with empathy and compassion. Her ability to create a supportive and challenging learning environment empowered me to develop my technical skills, deepen my understanding of complex cases, and deliver better care to my clients. Diana consistently demonstrates integrity, cultural humility, and a passion for advocating for those in the margins. Working under Diana’s supervision has been an invaluable opportunity for me to grow both, professionally and personally. - Menosh Z

  • “ Diana's perspective and the way she runs supervision sessions have been really powerful. It has elevated my expectations for supervision, my expectations were blown out of the water. I feel cared for, seen, trusted, and inspired by our supervision sessions. Diana helps me connect with the vision of how I want to show up as a therapist and a person, and models this as supervisor and mentor.” - Sasha D.

  • "Through open conversation and authentic no-BS guidance, Diana has helped me align my practice with my values, become more aware of areas of growth, and build confidence in my clinical work. I would recommend her as a supervisor and mentor." - Linh T

  • You are a clinician rooted in social justice and clinical activism

This is not “typical” supervision. This is decolonial supervision.

  • We will engage in concientización (critical consciousness.)

  • We break down everything that you have been taught in the western model of healing

  • We know that the personal is professional (your wounds are your medicine and your medicine is good for the world)

  • We practice liberation (time, money, freedom)

  • We wholistically hold our clients and honor the self-determination of the people we serve

Working with Diana as social work supervisor has been so healing in both the personal and professional. Diana brings a lot of Esperanza to this line of work as she sees both the struggles and the potential in me. Diana has no agendas (meaning no pushing for timelines, productivity numbers, or expectations) instead I found someone who encouraged me to slow down, to balance my nervous system, to invest my time on my energy in the things that are healing for me, to find my medicine, to assist me with bureaucracy, to connect the dots, and to find the path to liberation. - Kat G

Thank you for considering engaging in one of my most sacred offerings.

My don or vocation is “educadora.” I love teaching, mentoring, and guiding.

As a clinical activist and social justice worker there is nothing that excites me more than being able to nurture and support fellow clinicians of color in both their personal and professional development, evolution and liberation; while also having a direct impact on the field of mental health and social work.

My approach to supervision is decolonial, anticolonial and liberatory. I practice a trauma-focused approach rooted in anti-racism and anti-oppression. I explore and interrupt traditional power dynamics in our training and within the therapeutic relationship. I incorporate an analysis of cultural and social structures and their impact on individuals, communities, and most importantly on our mental health and overall wellbeing as a collective.

I am an experienced clinician having provided mental health therapy for over ten years, case management for over thirteen years, and having had a successful private practice for ten years. I incorporate a holistic focus and honor the mind, body, and spirit connection. I reclaim ancestral and traditional medicine, practices, and rituals. Integrating these all into my clinical and supervision praxis.

In 2015, I took the leap into private practice, beginning a journey of work, time and financial freedom. My business is an extension of me. I walk in the world in sacred authenticity and I approach life and business as ceremony. It is important to me that we engage in right relationship with self and with each other.

This journey is some of my most joyful work.  I am honored to walk it with you.

  • “ I have noticed a shift in the way I challenge imposter syndrome and self-doubt and allow my lived experiences to also be experts instead of relying on western education and how many quotes, EBP, I can pull out my purse.” - Claudia L

  • Diana's guidance, supervision, and teachings have created a space for me to feel seen as a therapist and as a human. Her decolonial approach has helped expand my understanding on how the systems that I practice in continue to cause harm in the BIPOC communities and has taught me ways to resist. She has brought a new awareness on how to show up authentically with clients, community, and with self. I'm grateful our paths have crossed!  - Cynthia S
